SUHAIL - Public Art Proposal

SUHAIL is a large-scale public art proposal conceived for the waterfront of Dammam and Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

The project is inspired by the manta ray, the sea, and the star Canopus (Suhail), one of the most important celestial references in Arab culture. Seven abstract manta rays come together to form a larger figure, creating a dialogue between marine life, astronomy and collective identity.

Designed in sand-coloured UHPC, the installation seeks to connect landscape, light and movement, offering visitors a space for contemplation and gathering by the sea.
